Mr and Mrs A were first looked after in their own home by Ethos Care Services. It became apparent over time that they required more positive mental stimulation.
Their case was passed over to Avon Lee Lodge and they at first undertook a day care package to include lunch and an activity within Avon Lee Lodge. This proved to be so successful that the day care provision tripled.
When Mr A was suddenly rushed to hospital Avon Lee Lodge were able to place Mrs A on an emergency basis at the weekend allowing his granddaughter to be present at the hospital.
As Mrs A was familiar with Avon Lee Lodge already her subsequent long term transition was seamless.
Mrs B arrived at Avon Lee Lodge after a prolonged spell in hospital due to self neglecting at home.
She spent a year at Avon Lee Lodge being rehabilitated before feeling well enough to return home.
When that time came the staff at Ethos Care were able to assist in her transition home, her room at Avon Lee Lodge was reserved for a period of time just in case she needed to return quickly.
However this was two years ago and Ethos Care Services have successfully maintained her wish to be at home, she even recently celebrated her 103rd birthday!
Mrs C was recently widowed and Ethos Care Services were contracted to support her at home.
However with family living overseas and her short term memory loss being a concern, she has moved into an Avon Lee lodge assisted living / close care pod.
This has enabled her to live in her own space but fully assisted by the on site 24 hour care staff.
As well as this successful outcome the pods’ flexible living arrangement will allow her son to stay over when he visits from overseas, the next best thing to being at home.
